What is FPV?
FPV stands for first-person view. So, when it comes to flying an FPV drone, essentially this means that pilots of FPV drones see what the drone sees.
FPV flight is one of the most exciting, immersive ways to fly a drone, and has been souring in popularity across the country. FPV pilots have full control of the drone, which equals a challenging and engaging hobby. Most drones are built by hand, which gives customizability to the pilot to build the perfect drone for them.
How does it work?
The FPV camera is mounted onto a drone to send real time video down to the ground using a video transmitter. The FPV camera allows you to see where the drone is flying and what it is seeing as if it had its own eyes.
Dates and Times
We meet every Tuesday to practice, learn, build and fly after school from 2:30-3:45, as well as optional Saturday meetings with Southwest Pod Racing to fly at Balloon Fiesta Park or other spots. There are also a few race dates of SPR races, which members are invited to attend
